E-Design Pictures 9 Nov. 14th, 2011

1)

In this photo Andrew Gayda was able to capture this bug on the brick wall very well while blurring out the unimportant stuff and really captured the bug. I was able to adjust the lighting on / over the bug to enhance the bug, then I tried to merge the color of the bug with the wall. I couldn't do that so I changed some contrast settings & vibrance to create this.

In this picture I highlighted the edging of the tree along with a small branch with the leafs. I was able to change the color of the tree to make it glow with moss like feel. This wasn't the most interesting photo to alter, but I really made it stand out with the vibrance adjustment and contrast.

3)

This is more of a joke picture. Gayda took a picture of the water fountain and the bulldog. Believe it or not animals drink water, including dogs so what I did here was crop the bulldog out of its original photograph and paste it into the photo of the water fountain, while adding text. I didn't add any affects to this picture.

4) 

In this picture I took a cut off the bulldogs body and put in on the picture of the top of the gym. I made things dark trying to capture the color of the flag, but I couldn't figure that out. I put the bulldogs head in the corner with the opacity at 65% so its like a ghost, hovering in the darkness over the gym.

5)

In this one, I put in a lens flare to represent the sun beating down on the Toyota in the upper parking lot then some lighting effects to draw away form the other parts of the picture that aren't as important. This isn't the best edited photo, but it has enough effects that make a point.

I decided to edit these specific five photos because they had an artistic background and feel to the eye. These looked like very bright photos that needed lighting adjustments and improvement.

E-Design All Hallows' Eve 8 Nov. 1st, 2011

The Obama head on the bathtub cat is a really different idea. I remember at a halloween party Henry Rodgers walked in with an Obama head mask that made that night different. The bathtub cat was something I had on facebook so I figured I would use it as it is pretty funny the way it was. I decided to remove the cats original head and place a scary head of Obama. The original Obama head was flipped horizontally but to make it blend in with this image if needed to be flipped horizontally so its sits towards the birds.

E-Design Midterm Project 7 Oct 27th, 2011

Captain America, a fictional character who would give the allies an advantage over the German Red Skulls weaponry in World War Two. I choose Captain America as my superhero in this project because he is a really bold man and by adding a bold eagle and the american flag it makes Captain America even more bold. Key word is bold. I wanted to make Capt. America bold, but also make the rest of my image bold as well, so I decided that I would make Capt. America transparent to allow the flag that would have been hidden to be seen. Capt. Americas uniform matches the colors of the flag so it still makes sense. The out come is great, according to gayda it is my best.

E-Design Thinkin` Project Oct 12th, 2011

My creativity is what really surprised me in this class; they suck. My coloring skills are awful, my shading skills are awful and my ideas are awful. I've learned a lot in this class for sure, but I still lack that extra creativity to make a good looking image. The image blending images project is the one I thought was creative for me. The only skills I have, are taking images off the internet and altering them. I can't draw or anything; simply drag and drop is my specialty. The assignment I disliked the most was the creature shop. Although the concept was easy; trace a creature and draw other features. When I looked around at others screens to get an idea, the already took the good creatures that were easy. So I kind of made my owning, but impersonated the joker from Batman. My skill development, just by looking at the pictures I have posted you can tell I have improved a little. My current posts are still very amateur but getting better. I am not really surprised by any of my work. I feel like anyone could do the work I am doing, better.

The picture below is Dave's Crossroad project. This project as about having 4 roads lead to something in your life of where you are going in the future, places are you are now or the past. Dave choses to have his family photo at the top, him leaving his mother to the left and then "the declaration of independence to the right". The declarations represents that he will be an independed person beyond highschool / college. And at the bottom road is a college dave would like to attend some day after highschool.

E-Design 3D Car 5 Oct 6th, 2011

There isn't a clear reason as to why I chose the SmartCar as my 3D car drawing. It just seamed easy to draw a smaller car. The less difficult the car, the lest frustration I would have drawing it. Somethings I learned about 3D drawing is that without correct and accurate shading, its not a real 3D image. I still lack the skill of shading so it looks good, I shade in a straight line so its not accurate to the original picture shade. Putting s smart car near an explosion makes everything more epic then is should be. An explosion itself is epik, let along a smartcar along side it. As for a final outcome, it came out better then expected. Just a regular car on a black background is dumb, but adding interesting background is awesome.

E-Design Creature Shop 4 Sept, 29, 2011

What did I learn from this project:

I learned how to rotate in image not only by degrees, but a complete flip to mirror another image. I originally was going to draw a freehand truck just for the heck of it, when I decided to cut that image out, copy+pasted the same image on a new layer, and flip it to create the ears / eyes of the Joker. I learned how to use the lasso tool, flip and text tool.

What did I struggle with:

Mainly the idea of adding head and a body. I decided that if I added a body with legs, it would draw away from the head of the image.

How do I feel about the outcome of the image:

I feel proud of the outcome. My intentions weren't on creating the creature shop image, but as it turned out, with some color and creativity, the creature was born.
